Rob Andrew: 'Sir housewrecker more like'The house that Rob's building was left in a mess when he took the keys as England's Elite Performance Director.
Rob Andrew has accused Clive Woodward and his coaching staff of leaving the England team in a right state after their World Cup 2003 win.
Andrew believes Woodward, who left his post at the RFU after overseeing the triumph in Australia, failed to insure the future of England's national side and subsequently should bare the brunt of the criticism for slow progress.
Speaking to the Daily Mail: "Without naming names, I do want to make the point that the 2003 World Cup coaching team effectively left no legacy to the English game."
"As a result, the elite end of the sport in this country was in a terrible state.
"I have no wish to personalise the issue. There was no structure, no real long-term planning, no development strategy.
"When the edifice fell over after the 2003 World Cup, there was nothing behind it."
