The most team points in a Tri-Nations series by a nation. New Zealand accomplished this is the 2006 competition. The All-Blacks won five out of six, losing their last game against South Africa by a slender point despite scoring 20 points. Needless to say they bagged the trophy...

Understandably the numbers aren't that impressive but for a 178,133 population, it's a greater proportion England with 58,871 players out of a 50,762,900 population. The figures don't lie...

A season worth celebrating...

The record number of consecutive wins enjoyed by Clermont Auvergne during the 2007/8 Top 14 season.

Clermont have rewritten the record books this season scoring the most points and most tries en route to claiming top spot after the regular season. More importantly, Clermont are the perennial second-place finishers losing all eight finals they have been involved in.

The year Ireland first toured New Zealand. The All-Blacks won 11-3 at the Athletic Park stadium with Bruce Robertson and Ian Kirkpatrick the try scorers.

In 20 games since, Ireland have failed to beat New Zealand, although they did manage one draw in 1973, 10-10 at Lansdowne Road.
