Maybe it's because of the mid-Wales sunsets?

It's one hell of a revolution going on down in mid-Wales. New coach, new ground and now they've even dropped Llanelli from their name.

So, the "Scarlets," apparently reflects the history and passion of the Llanelli rugby club and more accurately represents the geographical area of influence.

Maybe they've got Ospreys envy, but they hardly won titles because of a name change...

                                Leinster, Blues, Connacht, Ospreys...

                                 Scarlets, Warriors, Ulster, Dragons...

Lee Byrne: Looks like that bloke from the Pimms advert...

Strewth, those Ospreys are setting a ferocious pace aren't they?

Tuned into S4C last night, couldn't understand a thing, but the boys in black were relentless in that second half blitz.

Did they come down with bombs, rockets, guns and all sorts?

No. Just the awesome Lee Byrne and immensely talented James Hook, who contributed 22 points (in the second half).

Why was Byrne so good?

His arching run set up Shane Williams for the opener and followed it up with another rampaging assault to feed Hook for his first of two tries. Under the high ball he was reliable as ever.

Did they manage the bonus point?

Sure did. Tommy Bowe and Hook's second completed the rout with the Ospreys mustering 20 points in an enthralling nine minute march.

Tommy Bowe: 'The Swansea totty did it for me'

So how did all those Cider loving ruggernaughts enjoy their first weekend back on the sauce?

Is that some highland jibberish for 'What happened in the Magners League?'

You're no fun! Carry on...

Well our tips for the title, the Ospreys, won on the road?

Steady on... early days yet. Connacht's hardly Thomond Park...

Tommy Bowe came back to haunt his countryman with the game's only try and James Hook was boss.

Now you sound Geordie?

Yeah i've been watching X-Factor.

Did Ireland's best both grab wins?

Munster's defence held firm. Wings Keith Earls and Ian Dowling crossed for scores but Edinburgh are morphing into Scotland. Seems any side with Chris Paterson can't score tries and become kicker-happy.

And the champions?

No such luck for Leinster. They battled for a draw in Cardiff with Isa Nacewa spoiling fellow kiwi Ben Blair's evening by racing over from 40m.

Was there much joy for the outsiders?

'Old head' Stephen Jones inspired the fresh-faced Scarlets but Ulster were as damp as the weather with Andrew Trimble's defensive frailties exposed by the the Pontins bluecoat namesake Darren Daniels. And winter's struck already in Newport if Dan Parks gets man-of-the-match. The Dragons better wrap up.

Results

Connacht 3-16 Ospreys
Dragons 6-12 Glasgow Warriors
Edinburgh 15-20 Munster
Ulster 9-16 Llanelli Scarlets
Cardiff Blues 16-16 Leinster
