Rupeni Caucaunibua: 'I couldn't leave my mother's cooking'

Rupeni Caucaunibuca won't be moving to Leicester Tigers according to Leicester coach Heyneke Meyer after the Fijian maverick turned his back on a trial at Welford Road in favour of staying in the Pacific and hitting the sevens circuit once again.

Meyer told the Leicester Mercury: "We didn't lose anything. We didn't offer him any money and it didn't cost us money to take the risk."

Hands up if you need some more air-miles...

Fijian wing, Rupeni Caucaunibuca, is on the verge of flying out to Welford Road for a trial with the Leicester Tigers allying coach Heyneke Meyer's fears that he's a bit light on reinforcements after Alex Tuilagi picked up a knock at Gloucester.

Caucau is top of Meyer's list but the Fijian winger is still seeking the correct paperwork whilst playing for his local side Tailevu.
