Brock James: 'The French tache kicks in!'

Toulon 19 - 13 Stade Français

Castres 11-19 Dax
Bourgoin 18-6 Mont-de-Marsan
Perpignan 38-10 Bayonne
Montpellier 32-10 Montauban
Clermont Auvergne 16 - 6 Toulouse
Biarritz 24-5 Brive

So how did Clermont Auvergne's revenge mission go?

It might not be the title, but bragging rights for now are secured as Clermont's two superstars Brock James and Napolioni Nalaga stunned the champions. Having a funcioning line-out would've helped but Toulouse decided they weren't into that...

And the best of the unbeaten bunch?

Stade Francais might not have won the brawl before half-time but they certainly won the war in Toulon. Julien Arias' chargedown try coupled with the clinical boots of Messrs Beauxis and Hernandez ensured Stade stay top. Bayonne's 100% start came to a crippling end at Perpignan, who hopped their way into second spot with David Marty and Maxime Mermoz among their scorers.

Any star performers?

Francois Trinh-Duc's instinctive display at fly-half and Fulgence Ouedraogo's brace for Montpellier deserves a mention but Valentin Courrent could be one of the signings of the summer, contributing 14 points in a man-of-the-match display for Biarritz.
