Tom
Croft

/ Leicester Tigers and England

You can always hope [for more female attention] I don’t think it’ll change too much. It doesn’t affect the likes of Ben Kay and Lewis Moody when they are at the club compared to when they’re away with England. I think it’s important just to take it in your stride and keep your head firmly on your shoulders. It’s only a job after all.

He'd say I've got poor chat, not too clever with the ladies and fairly ugly too Matt Smith is my best mate at Leicester. We went to school together and now we live together. He has to put up with me all the time, so he’s probably the best person to dish the dirt.

My try in the Churchill Cup against the Maoris It was my most memorable rugby moment so far. I remember putting in Tom Varndell for a crucial try on my Leicester debut against Gloucester and obviously making my England debut against France was amazing, but there is something special about scoring a try at Twickenham in front of your home crowd.

To give an interception try in a massive final, It would be my worst nightmare to lose a final or a grudge match because of it.

I was interested in becoming a physio. I'll probably be teaching or coaching in the private sector at a school like Oakham. My teachers had a pretty cushy lifestyle. So that’d be a nice alternative if I wasn’t playing rugby.

"Tom Croft is another player with who has the X factor. It's certainly exciting times and it's fantastic what our back row might look like in a few years' time."
